Let it snow!

Time to limber up and bring out those shovels. According to the Shenandoah County Emergency Operations Center, snowfall accumulation across the county is reported as 30″ to 34″. Be careful out there. As roads become plowed, wet surfaces will turn icy tonight as temperatures dip into the low teens. According to VDOT, at these temps, salt and ice melting chemicals lose some of their effectiveness. Be extremely cautious on exit ramps and bridges, particularly along the Interstate 81 corridor in the northern Shenandoah Valley.

Excellent photos! I love the winter in the Valley! VDOT and the town crews do a great job of clearing the roads. I enjoy the walking down the middle of King Street in Strasburg when sidewalks are knew deep in snow. Small towns along Route 11 are like revisiting an earlier time when the snow slows the world down for a day or so. This has to be one of the most beautiful places on Earth.
