September Signals Football on WSVG

Warren County looked strong in its regular season opener at Strasburg, airing on 790 AM this past Friday.  Warren County forced five turnovers and stuffed Strasburg on multiple fourth downs as the Wildcats knocked off the Rams 27-7.  Marty Haley ran for 188 yards and a pair of TDs in the winning effort.

Craig Orndorff brought you all the action on 790 AM.  If you missed the broadcast, you can hear it archived on Valley Sports Radio.

Coming up this Friday, tune in to 790 AM to hear all the action of Wilson at Stonewall Jackson.

Then, stay tuned to 790 to catch the Virginia Cavaliers’ season opener Saturday at 5pm.  The ‘Hoos host William & Mary in Charlottesville.

While they may not compare to last year’s opening opponent, USC, the Tribe come in ranked #14 in the FCS (formerly Division 1A) coaches’ poll.  Virginia has experienced a lot of turnover in its starting units, and will feature a spread offense taking advantage of the speed at the QB position.

So, it will be an exciting broadcast.  The question is, which QB will get the start – Vic Hall or Jameel Sewell?  There’s no indication from Al Groh at this time, so tune in to 790 AM to find out and follow the action.

And that covers just three of the 90+ football broadcasts this year on 790 AM – can you tell we’re ready for some football?
